RES is exploring the potential for a solar farm on land approximately 2.5km southwest of Limavady

In June 2024, we brought forward plans for a re-designed scheme for the Glenhead Solar Farm. The re-designed solar farm would be capable of producing up to 80MW of clean, low-cost solar generated electricity and would include an energy storage system of up to 100MW to help increase the flexibility and generation opportunities of the site. 

Following our public exhibition in June 2024, we took some time to carefully consider the feedback received from the local community and statutory stakeholders as well as collating findings from site surveys and investigations. 

As a result, we are now holding another public exhibition in the local area to share key design changes to the 2024 design.
