Public Exhibition
In September 2023, RES presented preliminary plans for the proposed Glenhead Solar Farm located approximately 2.5km southwest of Limavady. Since then, we have been refining and improving the preliminary design, which would continue to sit sensitively within the existing landscape whilst maximising its generating capacity to meet the challenges of increased grid costs and enable clean, renewable electricity to still be delivered at the lowest cost to the consumer. In 2024, we brought forward plans for a re-designed scheme comprising up to 80MW of clean, low-cost solar generated electricity and a battery energy storage system of up to 100MW to help increase the flexibility and generation opportunities of the site.
We are keen to engage with the local community and as part of our pre-application consultation and have held a number of public consultations in the local area to share more information about the project and to enable you to provide us with your feedback.
